How to now if laser is IR ?

If it's green it's not IR ;D But if you meant, a way to look if your green also outputs IR you can look with a webcam without IR filter. Greens without filters usually output 808nm and 1064nm which you won't see with a naked eye, but you can see on a webcam without ir filter, making the green laser go through a pair of 532nm lasershades will help seeing the IR with the webcam because the shades will only let the IR go through and some green.

get a red piece of plastic, shine it through it, and view the otherside through a webcam. if there is ir, you will see purple. simple!
 
Well, if it is your Nova laser - it is not IR :-) They would have caught that prior to sending it out....which laser is this greenie ?
