How to make Magnetic battery connectors

I've seen gold plated neo magnets so I guess copper should plate well. A very thick layer could help because copper is more conductive than nickel but it has to be really really thick. Otherwise, the difference won't be much. Much better to plate it with hard gold so that it won't oxidize and have good contact with the battery.

I use a slightly different method for the battery leads. I have seen it from someone on the BLF forum.
The wire is silicone 14AWG and short as possible. The crocodile clamp is made from pure copper with a gold plated connector on the other side of the lead. Both connectors are soldered to the wire.
The neodium magnets are 2mm thick and on the outside of the clamp there can more magnets stacked for a higher magnetic strength thus better bonding.
The copper clamp is actually touching the battery poles when I charge the batteries.
All this to minimize the voltage drop at the connections.

I also use this leads for measuring current on the batteries. :beer:
