How quickly can a high powered laser blind a person?

I'm wondering how long it takes for a high powered laser (>100 mw) to cause permanent eye damage? I feel like a quick, random, reflection wouldn't do much...

It can cause damage before you can blink away. Be extremely ware of high-power lasers.

i got hit by a 100mw green a few times, my eyes have never been the same.
have you ever looked into a light bulb for a few seconds? when you blink, did you notice the after image? well i have a permanent after image of a line shape that is there forever.
my advice to you, anything over 1mw should be treated with extreme care, and goggles should always be used. even 5mw can do some damage
