pop a balloon?

I'm guessing as green can be less mW than a red to pop a balloon, that blue can pop balloons less mW than the green needs to be? :O

As stated here many times --- mW = mW no matter the color.
100 mW should do it -- no matter the color. Use black baloons.

What Mike said. The difference between different wavelengths is not the optical output. The photons with shorter wavelength does carry more energy, but it will hardly affect anything. mW=mW. The optical output is the same.

Blue and violet lasers burn better than red because they have shorter focal lengths than red, meaning they can be focused to a smaller point.

and the low wavelenght is absorbed much better by the target material...

~45mw of 473nm can pop balloons easily and when focused correctly, can light matches too.

And blu-ray light is absorbed equally by all targets, so the color doesn't matter.
