How do i remove the scatter comming from my modules

hi,
im an ebay seller in australia of 70mw green laser modules, actually the ONLY person in australia on ebay selling modules which arent super expensive. anyway, recently ive been having a problem, some of my buyers complain about the scatter comming off the dot, heres an image one of them sent me

this was from a 1 off 150mw module i sold, the buyer unfortunately was unhappy about the scatter comming off the dot so we are now doing a return and refund.

similarly another buyer of one of my 70mw green modules, says his module is outputting allot of scatter suddenly, and he wants to get rid of it, but doesnt know how, similarly, i dont know how either, or really what the main cause is, other than scratches on the lense.

i get sell these modules as is from the manufacturer, and the condition they are in is standard apparently, so what do i need to do to get rid of this scatter?

Should i get some threaded brass plates or something to screw into the housing like the lense does and drill a hole into them to mask the scatter? or is it a problem with the allignment of the crystal? or is this just normal? ive bought a variety of green modules from many different manufacturers, and all of them have scatter in varying amounts.

Please help, i really dont want to leave it to my loyal and often returning customers, to have to fix this problem themselves.

Make sure you clean the module lens before sending them out, and also tell you customers to first try cleaning the lens.

Microfiber towel, dipped in isopropyl 90%+ alcohol (rubbing alcohol) works great.

Lens cleaning kits, for cameras/optics are even better.

I use 90%+ alcohol and a cotton swab to gently swipe away any dust.
You don't need much... just enough to get the swab wet but not soaked.
It is a good idea to use an air blower or compressed air to blow away any loose particles of junk before rubbing anything on the lens to avoid scratching it.

I don't use lens pens or any other liquid for lenses (like those meant for camera equimpent) because the lens pens leave some kind of residue - carbon, I think and I think lens cleaning solution is a waste of money.

Alcohol is cheap and so are Q-tips. I like micro-fiber cloths for my camera lenses but they are too big for little lenses that are sometimes recessed in the module and folding the cloth gets my finger oils all over it.

I use qtips all the time too, but don't like them as much. Sometimes they leave a bit of residue behind, or cotton fiber on the lens. If you buy qtips, get the ones with a paper stick/middle, not plastic.

Also for those harder to clean spots, when the lens is recessed, you can pull off some of the cotton, place a thin lens cleaning cloth over it, same exact approach, just imo beats having a cotton fiber left behind

Yeah, use real Q-Tips (tm) with the paper sticks--not those cheapo imitation "cotton swabs" that just don't cut it. I hated it when the cotton fell off those plastic-sticked pieces-of-shit. Accept no imitations.

I had a 120mW green module, and it had some minor scatter like that. Then it started getting worse with use. I could actually see the scatter moving around and getting worse when the laser is in use. I wrote it off as probably something outgassing and depositing on the inside of the expander or on the crystal set, basically the result of buying a cheapo module. For some reason, I thought I had tried cleaning the lens before with no success. Apparently, I didn't, because on a whim I gave it a quick clean with 91% isopropyl and a cotton swab and it cleared it up nicely.
