definitely a nice unit - but the blue is pretty underpowered at only 100mW :(

ONLY 100mW of blue? That sounds like a lot of power to me when 30mW costs $700!

That laser is making me drool.

a rule of thumb for RGB systems is a 1:2:4 ratio of green blue and red, and with the unit having 300mW of green you'd need 600mW of blue to make a good color match :o

i would NOT buy that! you could make MUCH better by yourself!

way overpriced for the specs.

and the 1200mw white rating isnt all that true it would be about 350mw white

100mw blue
50mw green
200mw red

thats a big shifty for me

4.5:1:1.5 is another figure I've heard. It's more of an art than a science though. Is sunlight white? is flourescent light white? Is arc light white? Is incandescent light white? all of the above are arguably white.

The white that puts out will be more of an incandescent white.

There is NO WAY I could afford anything like that. And yeah, I would probably make my own anyway if I were to ever have an RGB laser. I was just saying it looked really cool.

Like sk8nmidget said, the overall power of the projector is 1.2W, but the white wont be anywhere near that. A lot of those pre-made scanners are very misleading in that aspect. If you cranked up all those lasers to full power, the beam will probably be a greenish yellow color. Needs more blue!!! :D :D :D

Maybe the idea is to never to use white? white isn't all that exciting anyway and few would notice an intensity difference between colors.

i'm sure that's the idea, and the lasers are probably all TTL anyway, so a good color match wouldn't even be that doable
