Anyway, may as well get my 'first' post here instead of on someone’s professional thread elsewhere.

So hi! I'm Pheno.

I've been using lasers for over 2 years, constructed my 200mw 532nm laser from Nerf host [lol] and module - which I think was CNI, not sure anymore. Anyway, it mode hops to TEM10 rectangular when the batteries are not perfectly 100% charged, pretty annoying for focusing to burn. I have a video with a comparison and construction pics here:

-snip-

I’m yet to buy an LPM, bobhaha suggested the Laserbee line and I’ll look into the pricing for that.

So yea, that’s me, hopefully should be looking into 445 [448]nm in the CDRH Class 4 range soon.

It’s just a pity that those stupid kids had to go and help increase laser [pointer] import laws in the Australian government. Wish we could grab the TARDIS and go back to 2007 for a fortnight, order a bunch of stuff ;).

- Pheno.

Well my arctic arrived in 12 days. Regardless of the '33 [39] reasons not to buy', WL have really improved their products. It's the end of 2012 and the included 18650 sanyo battery is charging nicely, the actual device outputs 1.171Watt, and yea, much better quality.

But you're right, if you want guaranteed lasers then it's better to DIY them in Aus.
