What is the highest power visible laser?
I know Gas lasers like CO2 ones are often in quite longwave IR
while the worlds highest power laser is OMEGA EP at UV

Well Argon Ion lasers can go up to 24 watts of optic power
But there's a guy here who combined 20 1 watt 445 laser diodes combined 28W , kinda OVERKILL haha

The most powerful Argon was at 50W.

Diode lasers aren't quite up to par with some of the solid state stuff.

Assuming you're asking about constant wave operation, DPSS systems can be made into power almost without limit.

But when you do this, you will lose beam quality and stability. Multiple modes will often result when you try and simply use bigger mediums and frequency doublers.

Copper vapor lasers can be run pseudo-CW and produce average powers of hundreds of Watts. I don't know how well they scale up. Pulsed ruby lasers can produce extremely high peak powers in the visible red range, but the repetition rate and average power are low. DPSS is the highest power truly CW visible stuff that I'm aware of.

The most powerful Argons were well in excess of x00 watts, where X is a large integer. I've seen documented 300 watt ion lasers. I know quite a bit about how they are different from from normal tubes, but I'm not going into details here. Suffice it to say the limit is the coatings on the optics.

I know Sandia and others have reached 350 watts with q-switched KTP/YAG.
