My name is Dave, I am located at Wiltshire Southwest UK. A newcomer to lasers, I have never entered a hobby with so little knowledge of it!
I've always been fascinated with lights and electronics. After pulling a 1 mW light pen about for ages, I was recently offered a brand new GVG-712 cheap which I leapt at as an ideal starting point.
I hope to learn a great deal more about the subject and my next target is a blue laser to hopefully run under DMX control with the 712 which I will also be trying to modify so that I can programme it from the pc. As I say, my knowledge is severely at floor level so I don't know if this will be possible but I do have quite a good electronics background.
The forum members certainly seem to be very knowledgable so hopefully I can pick up a few tips as to what can and can't be done.
