hello all. have been reading through the forums and have been fascinated by lasers ever since star trek tos ( the original series) . I have purchased a polar lights 1/350 scale model of the uss enterprise ncc-1701-A and will be attempting to build it soon and adding the led lighting kit. I was also thinking of adding a laser light to it also to replicate the phaser banks . its not going to be a rush job so it will be a one step at a time build which could take up to a year or longer to complete depending on any problems I encounter . also I have a wand company hand phaser which is a exact replica of the hero prop used in star trek tos which I will try to modify with a laser light. a lot of reading will need to be done for both projects I think and some learning will be needed to complete both projects which I hope I can learn from this forum

Welcome aboard Trekkie! :D

Ooops, I guess I should welcome you first, ( I eat the dessert first, gotta make sure there's enough room :))Welcome! Be safe and enjoy. Hoping the best with that build, sounds like a interesting one!

Welcome gji25, I hope your following "jon lussier" or aka. JonPaul on U tube as he mods this exact 1701 model and now favors the Wand phaser for his laser additions.
Member Aaron has is working also on a Wand phaser mod and has disassembled it as a start.

By the way how old are you as I see you love the TOS Star Trek?

hi gss. I was going to follow trekworks tut but there are many on youtube I might use them all depending on how much detail I want to add to the model. im over 43 and less than 45

Let me guess, your 14, seriously at 44 the TOS reruns got to you! When Star Trek came out in 1966 I was 4, by 1969 I couldn't stand it or even understand it. By 10 that TOS phaser and star ship just mesmerized me. I'm not at all a Trekie just like the toys.
How big is the following in the UK?
