I forgot to say that there is a way to improve the power output of any He-Ne laser even by 30-40% or more. This laser have also an infrared laser transition(around 3000 nm) which competes against 632 nm transition. Since 3000 nm has a lower frequence than 632 nm, it is more influenced by manetic fields.
To boost the power you should place several strong magnets around the laser tube, in opposite polarity (N-S/N-S/N-S etc..) which suppress the infrared beam and let pass more red light.
