hello guys i bought a C9 flashlight host 2xCr123a (i think its not isolated) and a linear driver and i still need help with this (case negative diode/case negative flashlight/driver wiring) thing ,how can i drive this diode i know it depends in what kind of driver i have i've got cheap aixiz driver from ebay
here
that's gonna do the job right? so i'm planning to make a dummy load and i have a dmm to test the driver output
current but i'm still confused for the wiring how it's gonna be and should i
insulate the heatsink or not!?.
my questions are:
1-what does continues negative\continues postive driver mean? and what is my driver type?
2-in driver description there is this line "The Laser Diode +ve is connected to
Power +ve and
Laser Diode –ve is controlled by the circuit".
A-by "
Power +ve" do they mean the batteries (the power source) should be connected to laser diode+ without using the driver?
B-by "
Laser Diode –ve is controlled by the circuit" how in the world am i gonna do that? i mean i know that my laser diode is case negative so the heatsink will be negative also, and the flashlight case is gonna work as a wire from Batteries to The Laser diode Negative without using the driver so if the driver job is "regulating the Negative
current" Then! "
current" will skip the driver and go directly from the batteries to the diode and
burn it! right?
i think i should insulate the heatsink from the flashlight case and find a way to connect the driver input negative to the flashlight case and driver output to the laserdiode negative pin and the laserdiode Postive pin will be connected directly to the batteries without the driver and i will be fine!
i'm so sorry for my newbie questions but you're the experts , and i will post the pictures of the beamshots after it's finished!
