Hi everyone.
I'm new to this forum i'm french .
And its been a while that I read the page of the forum and I wanted to get into the project to make a yellow laser.
So I start looking components.
So I find a red diode from a samsung dvd burner (A light scribe) but I don't know the specifications.
it's a long open can diode but not an lpc815 or 826
And I want to know if any of you could recognize it or if you have information about this diode. (i want the maximum power)
I take photo of diode and qr code on the sled.

Thanks for your help

Did you manage to get it out ? The sink looks very solid and hard to break.
If it is a LOC then 300mA is a good current to start.

Not yet but yes the sink very solid.
And i don't know how to extract it.

You can grab the heatsink with two pliers, then twist pliers in opposite directions.

Heatsink should break in half, leaving the diode intact.

There's a good amount of youtube videos that can help you out with diode extraction.

Also, if by "making a yellow laser" you mean, combining red and green, do you have a green module planned to buy?

Looks like a SOC to me. Same current as blord stated though. I have a couple of those they are smooth.

Thanks for your reply.
I'm going to search on youtube for the extraction .
And for my yellow laser i don't know a good green modul to buy . You have a green modul to suggest me? ^^.
If you sell green's modul tell me .
I'm interrested.

@ jander 6442
you have a couple of these diode?
Can you give me more information about current you use for it? And heastsinking ?

Can anyone suggest me a driver for this diode? I search in the sale trad section but only find driver like blitzbuck or benboost . But not for little diode.

Ebay driver can drive this diode with a constant current of 300 mA .
I planned to begin my project with this diode but soon i will by an lpc826/836 to drive at 420~450mA for reserve power if green is too much powerful.

I want to say one of my units is 439mA... Please relize I'm not diode friendly

Hello
I managed to extract the diode withou damage (i think).

I'll post pictures if you want the diode seems smaller than 5.6mm diode.

Thanks Jander;
any output power measure?

Here is pictures of the diode what did you think?
I can drive this diode to 300ma?

Looks like it's a 3.8mm diode.

I think that they should take 300mA without problems. But make sure it's at least pressed in a module, running it bare without any heatsink will definitely ruin it.

Thank you . But I only find 5.6 mm module. And I don't know a good driver for this power .
Groove 2 ? But it's very expensive.

Can anyone recommande me a 3.8mm abd a driver? Because I'm lost .

Did you measure the diameter of the diode ? If it is a 3.8mm package then I have a 3.8mm module for you. I have also a ~300mA Mohgasm linear driver. You will need two 3.7V cell to operate.

Yes i measured the diameter it's a 3.8mm and i'm very interested for the module and the driver .

The lens are in the modul?
or it's a focusabl lens?
You sell the lens with it?

I PM you soon.

And Jander6441 i think this driver (ghost drive) are very expensive for me because i don't need a powerfull driver like that.
I just want a little yellow laser (cheaper)
