Take the lens off and take a picture of the diode. Then take a picture of the back. Looking at that 2nd pic makes me think it is not in there right.
^My thoughts exactly Pontiac. That bar at the bottom looks like the centre of the, "Spot".
H3llk03r - Yes you are using the same thread but, you're not supposed to edit the first post each time you have a question. Firstly, go and read the first two posts of this thread with the eyes of a fresh reader. Do they make any sense at all now you have changed the first post? I didn't think so; they certainly don't to me. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, when you simply edit a post, the thread does not move back to the top of the page to indicate additional info; questions; etc.
The way to have done it correctly would have been like this:
Post 1 You - I have a question about A
Post 2 Us - I can help you out with A, blah, blah
Post 3 You - Thanks, I now understand A
Post 4 You again - I have a question about B this time
Post 5 Us - I can help you out with B, blah, blah
Post 6 You - Thanks, I now understand B as well...
And so on...
Maybe I didn't make it clear but it's a conversation. Its also a story. It needs to have a beginning, middle and end. You start knowing nothing, learn your stuff and finish with a homebuilt laser. This thread now starts halfway through all that!
IMHO, editing your posts is only really accetable if you have been asked to by someone for a good reason; someone has pointed out a facepalming error you've made that could lead another to repeat it; or, if you're like me, you notice poor spelling/grammar or a clearer explanation in a hopefully unread fresh post. Changing it for other reasons, (and without stating it has been changed and why), is not only confusing and irritating but can be seen as deliberately misleading.
Patience is a virtue...
As for your problem, as Lasersbee has said, talk to the guy that sold it to you.
