Help me decide what diode/module to put in my MX900 build.

That was stated in the data sheet. I just wasn't sure if it was the right data sheet.
 





I measured the focused line from a NUBM07 with the GBall removed and a 3 element lens installed, at 15 feet that focused line is 15mm long, that's 1.5 cm or 5/8 of an inch long.

I had hopped that new diode might be better or at least as good, but with a G2 and cylindrical correction it could be fixed into a good beam, I also prefer having the protective window. But the 07 makes twice as wide of a line as a M-140 and a NUBM44 makes 3 times as long of a line as a m-140.
At 15 feet with a 3 element a M-140 is 5/16, the NUBM07 is 5/8, and the NUBM44 is 7/8-15/16 .

Understand that the 3 element along with having a 5.3mm rear focal length compared to the G2's 2.39mm rear focal length also clips the ends of the raw output bar.
For instance a NUBM44 with a 3 element at 15 feet makes a 7/8-15/16 long line but with a G2 makes a 2 inch long line, but that ratio of difference may not be the same with a different diode. But I digress, the NUBM07 appears to have lower divergence than this new diode, but you have to remove the GBall to make use of it with a 3 element and it has to be kept free of contaminants.
Here's an old video I made, I said 15 but it's 14feet 2 inches to the edge of my washing machine where I set the lasers, if I remember to set them back 10 inches then it's 15 but starting out I didn't always do that, nut it's not a big deal, the new 2.6w 265nm appears to be much more divergent if it was focused correctly.

The difference between the NUBM44 and NUBM07 is very noticeable, if you want to burn the 44 has the power, but that bright blue color of diodes like the 7675 and NUBM07 is remarkable and the 7675 is sturdy but not as strong, I think it has better divergence that the de-canned 07, anyone know?

I am pretty sure it does, hopefully the 2.6w rated upgrade will have decent divergence more like a 140/7875 but with that wonderful 465-470nm color and keeping the protective can/window is a plus.
If I wasn't spending all my extra money on other things right now I would want to know what the beam profile of the 7675 upgrade looks like, it's rated at 2.6w rather than 1.4w . It could be a NUBM07 in a can, but the power number falls in between, I am hopeful the divergence will be good, well compared to the 07 and 44.

There's the 7675 and the M-462. The 07 has an amazing color, I just seem to do better with a can/window to keep contaminants out.

The price isn't bad on the 7675 and M462 but it seems you kinda have to "luck out" if that makes any sense and get an inefficient one to get the higher WL.
You can though see a real difference towards a more skyblue with these?

Though the 7675 is a lower power diode, it has been shown to be able to be driven harder, up to 2.4 Amps, and give more of a wavelength sift. I have one myself that I haven't gotten around to building yet, but got it on eBay in an auction for $47.00. This diode is always up for auction, so if you don't mind waiting, it could be the cheaper of it or the M462. I think these are the three that are in the 462nm to 465nm wavelength range. The 07 is decanned, so you may have problems with it if anything ever get into the bare diode. I hope I've been able to give you enough information to decide what you want to do. Good luck, buddy.

I personally would go with the NUBM07E 465nm. IMO, it's one of the best wavelengths available, especially if you're looking in the blue/green region.
It is hopefully going to be one of my next builds.

Whatever you decide to go with, we'll be looking forward to some of your great photos and beam shots!

NUBM07E If you want a blue.. and if you want a green just do another NDG7475 or NUGM01T but beam expand it this round for some difference in builds.

Good luck! Plenty of heat sink for any diode you could want.. so wouldn't want to put any real low power in it when any host/hs could hold it.

If you want a bright blue try this new diode and report on the beam specs, it should be a bright blue like the NUBM07 but with possibly better divergence.

It is very tempting to go the M462 route considering the $50 price tag! Although as most people have described already the difference in wavelength and perceived brightness would be night and day compared to the NUBM07 when over-driven.

Yup very tempting like said but the luck of odds of getting a higher WL just isn't high enough. Members seem to have a big difference in sensitivty on what colors they see.
Got to go with the jump to the 07 instead of a few nm that some might not even notice..
