Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but I have come across it many times while doing research, glad to have finally signed up and joined the community! I'm an artist working mostly with glass and light and have become fascinated with lasers in the process. My main reason for joining the group is to learn more about the hazards and safety precautions involved with lasers class iiib and below, and also to learn more about the physics and optics of laser light. Since I'm often using lasers in more obscure ways the the average hobbyist, It is usually difficult to find information that applies to the circumstances i'm working with and this forum has been an excellent resource due to the wide range of people contributing from different backgrounds and professions, I hope I have something to contribute as well.

We have a number of excellent, groundbreaking, laser artists who are very active. You should use the Search button on the bottom of each page for access to our extensive database for information about all things laser. Our chief concern is safety, so please remember to always protect yourself and others. Be sure to use proper vision protection and never point a laser at any living thing. Lasers are wonderful and interesting, but please always remember to be laser safe. I look forward to seeing your laser art soon. Please Take Care. :D

Thanks for welcoming me to the forum and I'll definitely have to look into the laser artists in this community and look forward to talking to them! Safety is my cheif concern as well and the main reason I am here, I'd like to be confident that any work using lasers is safe for viewing and this seems like the best place for me to learn and also get second opinions as I'm still a novice and am hesitant to rely on my own calculations and judgement for now.
