Hello newbie here trying to troubleshoot a Galileo pointer

Hello, noob here. Recently bought a Galileo laser pointer from laser glow and was a little curious and decided to start unscrewing things mostly the body and into the diode and now it’s deciding to not turn on. I was curious if anyone else has opened their’s before and could direct me as to what’s happening. I did notice some gunk near the top where the diode and I think focusing lens was. Was that a chemical that turned the laser from IR into green? I thought it was normally crystals that did that but now I’m unsure. Any advice is greatly appreciated

I once had a problem with one of their pointers because the black coating was on the tail cap threads preventing good contact.
