Hello LPF members, this is my first time I have ever introduced on a forum so hope this is ok, my name is Adam and im 18.
I have great interest in electronics(I self taught for 4 years and then 2 years in college).

I have a 405nm PHR803T diode that I think I have killed at some point
I have just started messing around with optics and have decided to build a laser that will produce a yellow beam.
Got plans for other lasers projects as well.

For anyone wondering what my username means i can only tell you it has two meanings.

Welcome to the forums, Adam! I'm sure you'll find plenty of information and help with your build in the DIY/Tutorials section of the forums. If you can't find the answer to your questions, there are hundreds around here that I'm sure would love to help you out! :)

Good luck with your build!

Hi Adam and a BIG WELCOME to LPF!!!

Not to put a damper on your enthusiasm, it's always nice to see, but a yellow laser is not an easy task! Very complicated and potentially very expensive. I'm not sure anyone has assembled one from discreet parts although it's not unreasonable to build one using a pre-assembled module if you have the cash to buy one.

Aside from that, there is, as Mo13 says, loads to learn and check out on the forum. Have a look at the links in my sig for some basics and have fun!

Post pics of any builds and we'll see if we can help out if you get stuck.

Good luck.

Oh wow, a laserist from London? Don't encounter too many of those. Want to be more specific? If you're interested I can show you my collection sometime.

^ Come on JaiNobeZ, he says South London. How specific do you want? :na:

Huh? How did i misread that? I thought it just said London. Ah well, we probably live fairly close. And I don't sound even slightly stalker-ish ;)

Thanks for the welcome :thanks:
with the yellow project, I thought i could just combine red and green laser beams through a dichro < would that work?. That project can wait though as i have just brought a LPC 815 sled and a PHR 803T sled for £14.03. Also trying to get access to a lathe to make my own hosts, i like to be unique

And JaiNobeZ im in Havering area, I thinks that is as specific as I feel comfortable with :D

Xuaodian; I DID run across that same idea once some time ago... (yellow <- dichro <- 2 wavelengths)... it's here somewhere, search the threads...

I don't know what any of this means, but here's a few threads to get you started:

A LOT of good info and pictures for you: http://laserpointerforums.com/f42/dichroic-colour-mixing-27720.html

And finally, two full blown tutorials of a different style, Here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f51/tutorial-yellow-pointer-project-cool-44427.html
And Here:Low cost yellow pointer - It can be done

Have fun, ask questions, people will help and awnser any questions. Good luck and welcome!
