Hi all,
I am a noob to lasers and have spent a few days reading through the forums before I decided to sign up and post. The more I read about lasers here the more I realize how little I know about them however I find it quite intriguing.
I stumbled across the forums while looking at a some 445nm lasers online. I was totally blown away at the power of these lasers and while have always respected the danger of even a low powered cheap dollar store red laser I never imagined just how dangerous the higher watt lasers can be if mishandled. So much so that I nearly changed my mind about obtaining one but the more I search through threads and read up on the building aspect of them the more interested I am becoming.
Not sure yet if my first will be purchased or if I will attempt a build but the idea of building my own is quite exciting. First I plan to do more research and get myself some safety glasses. I am really concerned about safety of others as well as my self and certainly understand that these are no toys.
I am a bit overwhelmed by all the beautiful hosts and builds I have seen here however I am starting to get some Idea of what i like. I think the lvl of support and information being provided by some members here is awesome and is so much more than I would have expected. I will do my best not to ask too many noobish questions and use the search first
