Greeting from Maple Syrup Land,

I think we are so post to introduce ourselves , I got my first Class 4 today (Sanwu Laser 304 Pointer, 1.6w 445nm, aswell as OD3 googles for that wavelength).

I'm too certain with what I should do with it, I was think of the classics, popping balloons, lightning matches, etc.. any suggestions would be would be appreciated.

Let’s start with what not to do with it. Don’t point it any any living thing, moving vehicle, reflective surfaces, trees or scrubs with people behind or possibly behind them. Remember it only needs a tiny gap to get through. Be careful not to hit a neighbors windows.

I like laser art with galvo scanners. Lumia can be fun. Optics experiments with polarization. Long distance communication by modulating the beam and expanding it for tight collimation. Be careful on that one as I mentioned above. Take a fish tank and fill with water put few drops of paint or milk in and see how it reflects in the tank.

be safe and have some fun. Btw. You don’t need to run it at1.5w. You can run it at 5mw and have a lot of fun

Thx, I will be sure to try that once the batterys arrive, but I am not so certain on how to run it at 5mW.
