Question: has anyone tried wiring two 3.6v batteries in parallel to power a pointer? Is there any reason why this wouldn't work? The wiring would be cumbersome in a pen style pointer and the battery ends would have to be insulated from each other but I guess it could be done.
You can do it with "copper strips".
Ofcourse this requires extra insulation, but usually there is always some tolerances, in battery compartments, and a pair of extra layers of Kapton tape (or other similar thin insulating tapes) and another 0.1mm of copper strip, probably don't cause too much problems, in pen-style pointers.
