Well thanks for the welcome everybody. A little bit about myself, let's see I am currently living in New Orleans, was a N.O. Firefighter for about 10 years but had to resign due to a back injury and now I am a jeweler. I have always wanted to incorporate a nice laser line of jewelry. It looks like this is the place to learn so thanks for having me

Sorry to hear of your injury, but your new career sounds interesting.

Speaking of incorporating jewelry and lasers, there have been a few laser hosts made of sterling silver, and embedded with various gemstones!

I lived in N.O. back in 1970, but we called it the Crescent City. I never heard of the Big Easy back then and don't know where it came from. I was into mineral crystals as a kid and almost bought a lapidary wheel for faceting stones. Interesting that you are now a jeweler.
 
That's awesome, I always admired stone cutters . It's a whole different animal than being a jeweler. Would love to maybe dabble in it one day as well
