Heat sink questions..

I was asking for answers not your opinion. Please keep that for your self.. and feel free to send me that in a private message not in a thread about heat sinking -_-

Also.. guys can i use a Aluminium block.. Drill a hole the size of the diode in it.
Put the lens inside the hole and the diode too.. Just while i wait for the aixiz module to ship.

Dont be rude with members, they are here to help but you have to respect their advice otherwise people will stop cooperating.

As long as those are large enough they would work. You would have to be beyond precise with your drilling though otherwise you won't get sufficient contact. The diode itself basically needs to have perfect contact on the edge all the way around and as much on the front side of the ridge as possible. If you are not an experienced machinist with very accurate tools I would suggest using a real module and finding a way to mount that in a heatsink. Not to mention an aixiz style module has threads for the lens.

DTR sells copper(the best material for heatsinking) diode modules of very high grade for cheap if you want to go that route.
