Heat sink I designed

What are the stripes down the circumference?

If they are cooling fins this will only work if the heatsink is protruding from the front of the host as you need air circulation to take heat away.

If the heatsink is completely inside the host only the mass of the heatsink is used to take heat from the diode module.

Ok also do you think it'll work if I build it out of aluminium or should I go for silver that's allot more expensive.

Thermal conductivity of aluminum, copper and silver are all very good for lasers, copper wins out though with a much higher heat capacity.

Well the material "Alumide" offered by the 3D printing service you linked to is not the same as Aluminum.
It is a mixture of plastic and Aluminum. It will be brittle and have poor heat conductivity. These characteristics are not ideal for a laser heatsink.

You are better off contacting a machinist (there are several that frequent the forum) and having one made to your specification.
