I'm planning on getting my first real red laser. Has anyone had good experiences with the Dealextreme 30mW red one. At 10 bucks it's a steal.
 





30mW , worse - from DX - is as usefull as cheapo keychains = CRAP.

Get a DVD burner sled

30mW of unfocususable 650 nm is really a waste of space. Heck, even a FOCUSABLE one is a waste of space.
 
If you want to buy a cheap red laser, you should get this one ---> 50mw Red Laser Star Projector Pen

I´ve bought it a while back for 17€. Nice star effects and tested 49mW output! I´m pkaning to write a review to this laser in the next view days.

Just noticed their 50mw Green Laser Star Projector Pen
If it is also up-to-spec, $11.60 will be a great deal for a 50mW back-opened pen style star laser!!

Pointless!?

A 30mW red is much safer! There are people who don´t want a burning machine, such a nice laser to look at or for playing around. I like my red star pointer a way more than my 200mW red O-Like laser! And there is still a difference between $14 and $45.

You simply picked up message from anywhere without reading the OP. I expect much more experience from a member with more than 300 posts.
 
I did, it said he / she was looking for their first real red laser. 'Pointless' might have been the wrong word. If you want to burn something, 30mW is pointless. Also there won't be that much a difference between 5mW and 30mW (for a red laser) other than brightness. Saying I know nothing about lasers, and neg repping me all because I assumed he/she wanted a burning red laser was a bit 'too far'. And a 30mW laser will still blind you.... And no I didn't 'just simply pick up a message' I read the whole post, I just thought he wanted something that he could burn things with. Goodness, calm down!

I'm not sure if that message was completely full or sarcasm, or not.... But, I still don't quite understand where that 'you know nothing about lasers' comment came from. Other than asking questions, because this wouldn't be a forum if people didn't ask questions, it's just not possible. Granted there was one time where I gave really shitty info about IR / green lasers on accident, and I apologized for it, and I don't really feel right with having the +rep for posting that. So, I guess your neg rep evened it out. But T_J's random -rep sent me into red...

lol jj i think that you wont be able to tell the diff between that and a 10mw go for a rayfoss or o-like. or if you want a dx laser get a 150mw red which would be like 100mw.

If I wanted a burner I would have asked about the dilda.

Anyway are they good just for pointing around or should get the DX true 50mW greenie.

So I guess in your little world it's ok to insult others, but the moment they say something back, the fault is on them? Wow, you really DO need help. That's like hitting somebody, then bitching when they hit you back.

The only time I posted bad info was on that IR/green topic. I even have good rep for good posts, feel free to check my rep. It's the reason I have 2 greens. And I don't post if I don't know, I will post what I know and nothing more.

PS: Are you STILL trying to find dirt on me? Wow, you're a champ man, a real champ!
