Yeah, I get more effects with the 3 mirror than i do with the 2 mirror. I would defenitly increase the angle of the mirrors a teenie bit. When I don't get my angles big enough, I just bend the shaft of the motor a little bit.

Can you list the parts you used and a bit of instructions?
Also, that's a nice Violet laser you got there, how did you make that dot so small?!?!?!!?!?!?!?

hahah that photo shopping took like 4 minutes

and i could do a little parts list later tonight at home.


and to focus my beam i used a mirror and then wore some sunglasses and put it in a little mini vise and shined it through the mirror back to me (to get the furthest possible distance i could)

and the focused it.
 
Hey Josh, that's a great job on your spirograph!. I like the stainless steel project box. Makes me want to make another. One like yours!

the only problem i found was i need to mount my motors on one part(the base)  and my batteries on the top part( the cover) and to do that i would have had some trouble with some sort of plug to make the tow parts easily come apart.

so my problem was solved when i chose to use the case as a common ground and ground the battery to the case and also the motors. and for the plug i used two simple 9 volt connectors with wires coming off.

it worked quite well and i also used the resistor like you suggested.

my next build will deff be in a normal box with a lid on it like your build
