Oh, that's SICK! That is just criminally cool. I just found this thread from looking at recent posts... that's a VERY cool project you've accomplished there, and now I will have to think of something equally cool - and smaller - to try myself when I get my hot 250mW+ running! :)

Hey another discovery! The laser mounting method which I found, just happens to be perfect for the Sentorch as well! If any are interested, it is just an electrical connector for the flex pipe stuff. I got it at Home Depot. It says 'Arlington - 1/2" '.

The white plastic 'inner' part is a perfect fit for the Deal Extreme Greenies...no modification needed. Nice tight fit. Just unscrew the fitting and remove the two inner pieces and the Sentorch fits nicely. (I had to do just a very little sanding/scraping on the ID of the outer ring to get the right fit for the Sentorch. (The box mounted part of the fitting, is slightly tapered on the ID, and just so happens to be the perfect fit for the OD of the Sentorch! So, that when you slide it in place, it fits snug and stays aligned)

Anyway, it's a simple thing to change over! Thought I would share this cool discovery...

Hi Rog, welcome back! Hope you had a good vacation. Thanks for the compliments. This is such a great project that you have shown here and I am very happy that you shared it. I did finally get a hold of the same box that you have and now I am going to make another...just because I like it so much! My first one uses 2 AAs (very tight fit) but, large capacity! I find that the new box (same model number as yours), actually has room for 3 AAAs. So, this is my plan anyways...

That is almost the same as my #2 projector.  :)...Have you put a window in the front?  My window is held in with an aluminium cover...keeps the inside dust free.

Nice Rog! Cool aluminum face plate. I can see with my x-ray laser vision that you must be running 2 AAA batteries along the left side just above the potentiometer... Rog, this projector project of yours is awesome man. Funny, I had a spirograph when I was in the second grade, I guess you just don't out grow some things...

Can't speak for rog8811 but for my pictures, I just set the digital camera for 'no flash' and left it on automatic. I'm sure it was a relatively short exposure...my last picture was hand held. Only a 5mW laser too! If you are interested in the 'part way around' effect, it is just setting the motors at almost the exact same speed, and then snap off a few pictures...you should get one like this...

cool! I have a cheap samsung camera and I have to set the exposure to 5 seconds for it to look like it does in real life.

I set mine to nighttime picture and disable flash. its fun to set long exposure and move a laser beam across the wall

The motors are turning the same direction but are positioned oppisite each other which makes the rotation opposite. Read the entire thread from the beginning. rog8811 has put a link to his video on the build....but yes, one motor has a pot on it. I found that a 100 ohm pot is about right. I put the pot on the motor which is the 'exit motor' (last one the beam reflects off) But I don't think it would make much difference...

great!
googled for such projects, and discovered that vibrating motors from cell phones are even smaller and only 1,50 euro each.
compact design coming up!
