Well after killing a few diodes I decided to make things a little easier on myself and get Osram PLTB450 with driver already attached from DTR.

Put the module into the heatsink.

Positive lead soldered onto the side clicky switch.

Not sure what the correct way to do this is. I assume this had a pill at one point that I don't have for the neg lead but this was my solution and works just fine. The plastic switch support holds this against the inside of the host nicely to complete the circuit.

Tap over the positive lead to isolate it from the driver.

nice build, i like what you did for the negative might have to give that a try in my side clicky host's.
 
Had to grind away the coating on it where it makes contact to get to the bare aluminum.
 
Sometimes aluminum brazing rods will work if you can get them to stick. Solder will then stick to that.
They don't stick to all alloys, however, and you have to be careful not to get the base metal too hot or it
will melt.
