Hi, been lurking on this forum for a while now and been a huge fan of styropyros videos om YT since im keen on trying to build a laserengraver as a sideproject when my chiligrowingseason is on halt.

I figured I finally register since I picked up a shady pointer om my trip to Lithuania. Posted a thread about it in Green lasers section. Hoping to get more knowledge here about building lasers, unfortunately Sweden control the borders pretty hard on stronger lasers. Even in modules, so I dont know how easy this project will be.

Welcome to the LPF. Even if your country has harsh customs that you need to get through, if you learn how to press your own diodes into modules and setup your own drivers you can still get flashlight hosts that will work for many direct diode lasers. Most countries don't bother with lab lasers, so you can always convert one of those into a handheld.

When you say 'modules'.....does that include 'lab lasers'? they are what is used in engravers and are not banned AFAIK anywhere.
Did you put your location in your profile?? it needs to be there.. especially when we are trying to help later.
As Paul said lab modules have been modded into a 'porta-labby ' or Handheld Lab -3 or-4 or 5 ...18650s Li-ions make enough for 12vdc labbies and you can get good ones free inside laptop batt packs.... and all will be connected and some connections you can reuse..
