Hello everyone here at LPF! My name is Theo, or you can call me by KANG. I am so glad to join this forum. I have never seen a forum with so many people...! I am from Colorado. I am studying mechanical engineering at one of the universities.
I've always been a fan of electronic music and have always what a good way to express myself through it other than dancing to it. I really got inspired after seeing videos of DefQon a music festival for hardstyle music. Instantly I knew I wanted to learn more about how it was all done. This is my 3rd month that I have been browsing and asking some questions about scanners (mostly through photolexicon). After doing more and more researching slowly about things are working I am learning so much and it is very addicting to say the least.
I don't consider myself at all an expert in any area of lasers as I am still new to this. I just wish to learn more. I have a very open mind and am a observer, listener, understanding. I have a very strong patience and I WILL use the search bar and use my etiquette/questions/critiques carefully.
As for what I am doing. I am trying to accomplish building a RGB laser projector. I am fascinated with the fact that I can be able to express emotions through a paint brush of light! I think that is just amazing... I am very interested in aerial beam shows, however I also really like abstracts.
So far what I have is a 20kkps galvo scanners purchased from ebay (I might regret/upgrade this later, but it is good for now. ) I also have bought a 1/4" Aluminum plate 18"x24", I just recently bought the RGB Diode Module bundle from DTR as well as the 3 flexmod P3 drivers to run analog modulation on the diodes. I still need to get a power supply for them. I have quite a few purchases to go, but am doing it slowly. I have run various test frames through it already using a 5mw red laser purchased from my a local Staples store. I know I do need to buy some hosts to hold the diodes in or perhaps machine them myself, dichroic mirrors to combine the laser beams, a laser software which I am leaning towards LSX, Laser Safety Goggles (I will get these before I do ANY testing with the Diode modules.) Some Fog/Haze to make some nice beams! I am mostly doing this for learning/hands on experience under the inspiration of beauty! I understand that it is not a toy and must be treated with utmost respect regardless if it is a 5mW laser, 50mW laser or 5W laser! I will be working with small power output lasers like the diodes mentioned until I really get a good understanding of how everything works. Most importantly this is mostly done in small location in my home for myself.
Thank you all for reading, I really do appreciate what you all do here and am looking to learn more every day!
