I have had my green mini laser pointer for a while and it's one of my favorite lasers of my collection!
However, I have always dreamed of making the front end cool and also focusable by installing a lens with focus ring!
To my surprise the laser pointer appeared powerful enough and could cut through electrical tape.
Something I liked was having an aixiz module and I wanted to make it possible for the laser to have it for cooler and sharper appearance, you could also do this same project as well!
So I took an Aixiz module and removed only the front part that I needed for this project. Then I unscrewed the lens and I fit that metal part to see if it fits inside the mini laser host and sit around the lens of the laser. It worked though it was loose and it would not have good looking since the diameter was smaller then the laser, also gluing it was never a clever thing to do. So the silver front head that I removed, I would drill a hole and file it from inside to make the Aixiz module fit inside of the silver head.
This would be great since I would only need to press it inside but also being able to easily put it back onto the laser without ruining anything!
Tools I needed were a drill, a round metal file, pipe cutter, fine and rough file and pliers.
Drilling was a headache since drilling metal to make a metal hole bigger wasn't as easy as drilling wood.
Instead I used the pipe cutter to cut the Aixiz module to only have the M9×0.5mm instead of the hole of 5.6mn diode.
Pliers were used to increase the tension and pressure of the cutting wheel to cut the metal.
After I cut the Aixiz module I filed and made sure there were no sharp edges.
Then I drilled the silver head and filed from inside with round metal file to make the diameter bigger to make the Aixiz fit inside.
Something tricky was filing the silver head to make the upper end of Aixiz module being in line with each other.
It worked but required a lot of hard work.
At the same time I used the laser pointer as a reference to make sure I didn't file too much and that I did good work.
Next step was washing the Aixiz module and silver head carefully with water and soap to remove fine particles, this to prevent them from ruining the laser lens.
The last step was pressing the Aixiz module inside the silver head until the lines were flush with each other.
Last but not least, I put the silver front head back onto the laser.
Whenever I wanted I could easily remove it and fit it back onto the laser without damaging anything.
Also, I can fit the front part I made onto any laser pointer of the same model
Basically, the Aixiz module sits centered inside the silver front head!
This concludes my DIY project I made for my mini green laser pointer, it took a lot of hours but was absolutely worth it.
The laser pointer looks much more aggressive and sharper!
Happy lasing!
