So 3 days ago I was at the beach, in Maine, and the air was very foggy, so I played with a 20mW, and here's some photos :

Now, for that spirograph, wich is more exactly a spininig mirror and a DIY "galvo". The galvo is a front lense assembly from a GGW, on wich I glued a small mirror. By connecting it like you see in the photo, it will shift its angle when a voltage is applied; like a galvo. Connect the two wires in parallel to an amp, and it will move according to the sound.

The laser bounces from the "galvo" to the spinning mirror and TADAM!, a cool laser effect.

Pics of the setup :

sorry for the dirty basement :yabbem:

Now if you take a dual channel amp and connect to "galvos" like in a scanner, you get this :

vid comming soon, still have to shoot it

Thanks, I'm uploading it right now, it will be up in a few minute.

Oh, also, a quick comment about the music; my Ipod battery was down, so I grabbed my another Ipod, and looked for something loud, and ended up with a Halo 3 soundtrack that I had used for a project...

I think you would get a nicer kind of visualizer if you use a line/liquid sky generator instead of the spinning mirror. It would look like a heart beat monitor :D

That's the next thing I'm doing, but a liquid sky line is large, so I will use a "galvo" and a circuit that will generate a constant frequency to create a small line.

Nice effect -Build...-however you say---The galvo is a front lense assembly from a GGW, on wich I glued a small mirror. By connecting it like you see in the photo, it will shift its angle when a voltage is applied; like a galvo. Connect the two wires in parallel to an amp, and it will move according to the sound. --- What can else canI use -- as I not even sure what a GGW is- how about a stepper from a printer or flat-bed scanner?
thanks-HK <(*u*)> OK OK--DID google search - GGW- the source of the 6X-so anyone want to give me a good deal(trade?) on empty sled??(i have 1st surface mirrors and or poly mirror assemblies?? Also seeking PBS cube cheap but big for combining RG & or BR. perhaps from a ps3 SLED??

True-but I would like the bigger cube from a KES 400A until I can afford the $50 for the one I really want from Fred at SurplusShed- great source for many items and good service too.-- :+)---hak
