dont worry I had 2 6x diodes blow randomly... I was seriously considering giving up the hobby but then I was pulled back in!

you know what i would hate.... could you imagine blowing a 12x diode.
ooooooo i would be pissed.
but 6x's are still around ~45$ a piece and that would still hurt if them broke.
