Good set of Lock Picks?

I have two sets of southord 5 peice kits (i thought I'd lost one so got another.. then found the origonals!!!) and I can assure you you wont find much better quality out there for the price.

btw, this is just for a hobby lol, no im not planning on braking into anything. i made already a few lock picks myself out of bicycle spokes and jigsaw blades, but the finish is kind of sloppy and sometimes they get stuck in the locks.

Trust me even with the best picks you can buy, you wont be breaking into any 5 pin locks for a while, its not something you can just pick up and do it takes lots of practice, theres a few books around that give helpful tips, I'd reconmend getting your hands on one to teach you some of the basics on using the tools, but its a very, very fun hobby (if you can call it that?).

Not sure about the US but i know if you are stopped and searched in the UK with picks on you you're in trouble, so be careful :)

Actually i already picked a 6 pin dead bolt that used to be on my front door, i kept "picking" at it (lol pun intended) for like two hrs untill i was able to turn the cylinder. I read alot about locks and how they are made and how to pick them, i dont remember where but there is a very well made tutorial online that shows pictures and everything. I picked it with home made picks made out of bycicle spokes. Later i tried to make some out of a hacksaw but it took way too long to make just one and when i was done i realized i made the angles on the teeth way too steep so it would get stuck inside the locks. I havent tried to make another one after that. I also made a torque wrench out of an allen wrench and just filed down the small L-tip

I also tried to make a bump-key but it didnt work too well i almost got it stuck in my front door lol. Again my mistake was on cutting the angles too sharp.

I liked the hobby and got very exited when i opened the lock, i tried to do it again but got frustrated like 20 minutes into it. I want to try it with actual lock picks (not home made ones) to see if it makes it easier.

I am very persistent and have alot of patience, sometimes it is a bad thing though. My first laser aside from those cheap dollar store ones was one i made, took me a few months reading and reading alot because i didnt want to burn the diode. i used one from an hd dvd player from an xbox 360 and when i bought it it cost me $50 so i didnt want to waste it. Everyone recommended to build one from a red laser first because the blu-ray diodes were delicate. But i went for the blu-ray anyways because i already had it. I still have it and it still works lol!

or you could make them for free.

I always forget when it comes to lock picks, its really down to personal preference :) I used to have a really good home made set but lost them moving house, my pre made ones are okay I guess :)

Seriously, does DealExtreme sell EVERYTHING?
I mean really... Lockpicks? I never knew that. I think I ought to take a look around and shop for some cheap stuff there :)
