Glue in 200mw focusable?

I just recieved my New Style 200mw Focusable Laser from o-like and it is hard to turn and gets stuck at times. I unscrewed it and it has what seems like wet sticky glue. Why is it like this? Thanks
 





I guess that this "glue" is some extra grease ...
Susie usually does that for a smoother head.

It may just do that because it is new, give it some time and use and it will probably go away.
 
Send a PM to susie and ask her, or take a paper towel and clean off the excess.
 
The grease on my new style is pretty sticky, but I never unfocus it enough that the glue gets exposed.
 
I thought grease was supposed to be the opposite of sticky, which is slippery? I mean isn't the whole point of grease to act like a lube?
 
I think this stuff is meant to keep the focusing head from being too wobbly or to be able to unfocus itself so easy like the first dilda. This one has a firmer focusing grip because of the sticky grease.
 
Mine had the grease also.
Just levee it their, it wont harm anything.
I made the mistake of wiping it of, because I wanted to use teflon tape instead. Never was able to get to turn as nice as it did, with the grease.
 
In some cases, when I want a tight grip in the lens I add some "Lithium grease" this traslucent grease works like charm for this things.
 
This type of "grease" is intentionally sticky.

It's used in many optics applications, where there is a focusable element, for avoid that vibrations and occasional touchs may vary the position of the lens holder, changing the focus.

You can freely take it away, but more you take it away, more the focusing assembly may become "wobbling" and unstable.
