Here are still more pics using my large glass sphere, and a stretched out Slinky positioned right behind the sphere. I wanted to get the sphere to distort the circular shape of the Slinky and was able to get some very abstract patterns .The first couple of pics have two smaller glass spheres in front of the big one but I couldn't figure out a way to incorporate them into what I was doing and removed them. I also used 6 mirrors and diffraction gratings on some. And lastly a few toward the end were shining two 405nm’s into gratings into the glass sphere to produce the green lines in the sphere. Enjoy.

These are absolutely amazing!!!!

It's an explosion of colour, I love it. I need to get a 589, it's pretty much the only colour I don't yet have that I still want. I've been raping my savings lately but... you only live once?!

Can we have Brucemir's status change to, #1 LASER PHOTGRAPHER! JK :) unless you wanted it!

Hey USAbro, thanks!

trencheel303-you are right, you only live once! You should seriously think about getting one since they are getting harder to get. And if you get one like the Dragon Lasers 50mw , you will not regret it.

I've got the money I'm just a stickler for saving it instead of spending. I've seen and sort of experienced first hand the sh&t you can get in when you have no savings. Otherwise I'd have every wavelength under the sun just now.

Having a 589 would really complete my collection though, but I might sell my 445, it's just too powerful to take photos with and it flipping nearly burned my slipper yesterday!!

Hi trencheel,
I know what you are saying about using powerful lasers. I hardly ever use my 1W 445's as when I am photographing. Usually after a few shots I will start to smell smoke and stop to investigate what is burning. It is a very dangerous situation that I try to avoid. Though there are sometimes I use my 1W blue lasers to be more visible when I do am doing a scenario where I want the blue to be very visible and stand out through the other colors. I also use my 405nm 500mw lasers that will burn things rather quickly too. The back of the vest I wear in the winter when photographing in my garage has so many holes in it from those lasers.

Does a vest mean the same in the US as it does in the UK? It's usually a form of underwear, eg

[I had to post something to try taking my mind off 589nm! That 50mW 589nm is US$419 (£280)! - I must be strong...]

hey Clansley,
The vest I wear when photographing in my garage in the winter is a down material winter jacket without the sleeves. I wear one at work too

I am wondering if you've managed to kill a unit yet due to run time? REP

Damn Bruce, This is some of your best!
Please keep working with those spheres and slinky, the results are phenomenal!

I'm still waiting for you to publish brucemir's "The wonders of laser photography" coffee table photo-book.

Bowtieguy- Thanks again for your always nice comments on my photography.

Pman- I have had two lasers die on me. My first laser I got, a Dragon Lasers Aurora 445nm 200mw died on me last year. and a Laserbtb HL405nm 500mw died a few months after I got it. Laserbtb did replace it for free as it had a warranty for 6 months. I have been very lucky. Some of my lasers have to have easily over 100 hours of use.
