GGW - not busted

Well I tried rubbing a few materials against the diode window and another couple alcohol 'Q-tippings' (70%) final one followed by some duster air to evaporate the alcohol.

The beam cleaned up fairly well and now it's metering around 240mW. I'm fairly pleased because I was only expecting 180-190 something. It's got the 405-G-1 lens in it so that's probably contributing significantly.

Thanks again for the suggestions gonna search around a bit as the cleaning question is probably a more common one

Thanks ped, plus rep for the link(more importantly the info in said link)

Yeah it cured my problem, these freakin diodes are to powerfull!

Stuff baking onto the windows has always been a potential problem. One of the things that melts, burns and sticks are 'flakes' from the plastic thread on the lens, especially in combination with the spring. I'd recommend going for a glass aixiz lens with its metal thread, and without the spring - nothing to make a mess there.
