Geek Phones - Verizon?? What would you recommend

Basically, it's about time I replace my old cell phone. It's missing a battery case, has a crack in the plastic, and for christ sake it doesn't even play videos!

In a perfect world I would definitely get an iphone, but leaving verizon is not an option. "hacking" a phone to work on a CDMA network is an option if need be.

I don't want to have to pay more per month than I am now. Blackberries and g3 smartphone plans get a bit pricey. I will be going to college full time, so you have an idea of my needs. Not a business man, but mobile browsing and "cool" factor and functionality are important.

I was looking at the LG-Versa (for about 300 dollars with upgrade and contract) I'm more than willing to spend this much money (alot for me to spend on a phone) but just want to know that I am making the right decision before I make it.

So what do you think? Anything else that you think I should look into?

GSM don't work on CDMA no matter what. Uhhhhh Switch to T mobile. Cheaper data plans. For their loyal customers they have a 50 dollar unlimited internet text and calling plan!!!

I have a sidekick, bleh, but the plan is 20 dollars for 3g(when I get the new one) unlimited text, unlimited mms.


Seriously CDMA phones suck, thats why I switched
 
Switching providers isn't an option at this point as I'm on a verizon business plan. I mean, I could switch, but then I'd have to pay for it, and who wants to do that!

I like the Touch Pro but it would require a data plan. I believe Verizon has it. I know with Sprint you can score for 300$ with 2 year contract, Verizon possibly similar. If you want a Cool, Geeky, Fun phone, I'm thinking data plan required.

I really like my HTC phones. Been happy with the last 3. Touch Pro 2 is out as well I think.
 
oOOOOOOOOO Touch Pro 2 looks NICE. I do wish they would have given it more ram or a faster processor, but still with Opera Mobile and a Custom Rom That phone should fly.

I love HTC as well
 
i have a dare and it works great other than the fact theres no flash player yet... :(

Both of my Moguls were custom (US Cellular Sucks). I haven't had to play with touch pro yet. Always room for faster processors and such. It is pretty decent as is though.
 
My TP is great i dont know about the Verizon one, Verizon seems to brand there phones a lot in terms of software and hardware
