Hey everyone.

I took a risk with this gas laser here: eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I hooked it up to my power supply, and I felt the joy of seeing a laser with plasma glow!

Now, that's all fine and dandy. I started looking for the dot... and it was nowhere to be found. Instead what I found, close to the cathode side of the laser, there was a dim red glowing ring coming out from the front.

Anyone know what's up? Is this reparable? Lemme know.

Its probably took a knock , the internal optics shift. I had several HeNe's like this in the 80's.

I ditched them.

Yeah, I was just hoping for a lasing tube :\ I guess I will have to wait till I get more funds so I can get some tubes from you guys on here. -.-

Keep your eye's on fleebay, there are Always more coming up for sale. Many of them fairly priced and working with PSU.

My best score was two working ~5mW red's and a working lab style PSU for $1.73 plus I think $20 or so shipping.

I have a nice PSU for a 6 incher, so that's what I am looking for... trying to get a lot of exposed tube for a special build I have in mind.

I'm sorry i just had to post that

I don't see any adjustment rings on that tube so I don't think you can realign the mirrors unfortunately. Sam has quite a few 6" tubes available on his for sale page for $10. He limits it to one per order. If you bought that $10 supply that was mentioned in the deals thread I posted it may not be beefy enough. According to the specs Sam lists it needs 1250VDC at 4-4.5ma. You can always buy one of his kits like I did too.

Whoops sorry. I was going to and forgot. That page is hard to find there.

Sam's Classified Page

I have the first kit listed there with the alden option. I probably sound like I'm parroting his site over the last few days but you really can't go wrong with buying from him since all his stuff is tested and sold as described.

Neat! Shot him an email. Why didn't I just grab one of those to begin with?!
