OK next one we had a two week break last time ..must be a used silica gel they usually are white ish

They say you can bake saturated silica and bring it back to its original desiccating performance. Probably won't be trying that with the litter....
Anybody know if the rope is a desiccant too?
Mike said:Silica gel is highly moisture-absorbent, and commonly used in various packaging applications. The stuff I had was pretty old, and so needed reactivating by baking in an improvised oven at about 100 deg.C for 24 hours. This turned it from milky pink to a deep blue colour.
