That's a tricky one, since there are so many trace elements, and many of the metals look alike. I'd speculate on manganese though.
 
No not a mineral per se, and not an acid.

Hint: it was used throughout recorded history. From ancient Rome to the present.

Ding! Piferal is the winner! This is a 99.9% pure arsenic sample in argon gas. Arsenic will change color quickly in atmospheric gas.
