G9 Lens Extraction! Will it work? or Fail?

Well I'm not sure what size lens is in a kryton groove GITD host standard 3 element glass i think but i would like a G2 in it instead ,who does these lens conversations it looks pretty easy to put a new lens assembly in .Sorry for the thread Hijack in advance

Tony, buy one from dtr's shop. They're 45 bucks plus shipping. You just have to take out te old lens and screw the new one in. Beware of the glue though ;P

I dont even weaken the glue.. Just twist very carefully and all is good with me never had a failure with 9mm lenses that is different about the diodes though but i guess ot is easier to put in alcohol first. Nice touch dtr!

Offroadfreak, the glue was an inside joke haha. I glue EVERYTHING together in my builds. Blaster has to unscrew the lens from the focus adapter but the lens has a little glue on the threads to stop it from moving

Yeah if you wish to play it completely safe follow DTR's advice.

But like ORF said, just twist gently and pull away it works every time.

What do you do with the lens(es) after extracting them? They make a good collimation optic or something?

Yes they can be as much as 15 percent better than a g2
