So, who's going to work out the equivalent resistance of the mess on the mid-right?

Well when you have a bobbin in series with a Pie resistor and vibrator in parallel, you have add

bobbin + 1/(1/Pie + 1/vibrator)

and then subtract the Voltage across the smoke in a can...

I knew it was a latch, but the different types have escaped me, it was a while back since I had this, electrical engineering was my minor.
