hey jay one question,
now with the 445nm diodes available will you make any custom heatsinks for this kit?or will you mod aixiz modules,im asking because i would be interested to make a 445nm in this host but the diode is 5.6mm.

It's something I may consider...

But the thing is, with only a CR2 supply, your not going to be able to set it to a really high current anyway. Probably 350mA's to maybe 400mA's max. (guessing)

So I would imagine at that current, it will be a similar heatsinking need as an 8X or 12X. (guessing)

And IgorT tested this design with 8X heat. (or similar) He found it to be fine for normal duty.

With those things considered, I would say that the current design should be fine for the 445 diode an lower currents... (which the battery can handle)

even with 350mA you should be getting for sure more than 200mW's and with 405G lens around 300mW.

From what I've been reading about current/power ratio from other posts so far, it should be more like 375mW's or more @ 350mA's with the 405-G-1... :)

SpyderFire recorded a 26% increase in power for the 445 diode using my 405-G-1 vs AixiZ acrylic: (see beam shot too)

Awesome!i will sure make one in my Dorcy and probably one in your CR2 keychain if you decide to make direct press fit heatsink for the diode.

Uh... you must be confused with a different key chain...

The Key chain laser shown in this thread is a custom built laser that you can't buy from a manufacturer.

If you found this somewhere, please show the link...

Hey Jay I was wondering if it might work to trim down one of the smaller green modules, then take the driver off, and do a "mini" lm317 and a resistor for the driver, would that fit?

I really doubt there is room for a green module even without a battery! It' is a very small build.

If you want to spend the money on a green diode yes, but those are way too expensive still...
