That's a great price on the kit. If I was looking for another kit, I'd be all over this.

For anyone on the fence; Gary is great to work with. I bought my very first laser (other then some <5mw pointers) from him. You aren't going to go wrong

BTW, these are in stock, no waiting. I can substitute a 1.5A driver if desired for a nominal charge.

It's a sales thread so that's OK. ;) The lowest current setting I offer for this host is 445mA which is way to high for a PHR-805T diode, but is perfect for the BDR-S06J.

It would be $21 via Priority Mail international. The U.S. Post Office recently raised many of their international shipping rates between 40 and 50%.

I have a diode capable of 1.5W and I would not like to push diode all the way to max... Would a single fully charged 18650 with the 1.25A driver give me a healthy 1100mw?

What kind of driver? And I'm guessing your 18650 is a 3.7V battery? I think you should just get 2 16340/18350's (3.7v).

I really doubt 3.7v can power over 1.1W :wave: (2 of these batteries take up the same amount of space as a regular 18650 :)

These are buck drivers and need about 1V input above the diode voltage to work properly. A single fully charged 18650 battery will give you about 100-300mW due to the lower voltage.

That said, 2 X 16340/RCR123A batteries should produce the 1100mW you are looking for. :)
