Sometimes I'm tempted to build practical lasers instead. For instance driving this one at 1.2A will provide 1.2W of nicely collinated 445nm with a 3-element lens, there would be no need for duty cycle, and battery run times would make it last months with daily use before needing a recharge. But then I snap myself out of it and give the people what they want....MORE POWER!!!!
