You can get some insane power out of these diodes. A c-mount giving 5 watts of 808nm isn't uncommon providing you have the means of heat sinking it

Yeah I was going to get a 5mw 808 in a kryton beast, but 1 watt of red seems much more appealing.

So c mounts are gaining popularity

You would have more trouble finding a battery that could provide ~5A of current.

Shit at 2600mAh though I can't see it lasting more than 20 minutes under a constant 5A drain. Still, not bad though. What driver would possibly provide 5A anyway?
