I'm a Northern CA dealer for EP Lowers, a new firm making 80% Lowers for AR out of Polymer. Many advantages, including NO JIG Required!
If you don't know about these since you have been working on your latest death ray, here it is...
One can make their own firearm- legally. There is maybe no better platform than the AR. All other components are available off the shelf without any FFL involvement. So if you make the lower all else is easy to get and assemble into an AR. 80% means 80% of the work is done and you need just make some cuts to open up the lower for the trigger and other parts, as well as drill a few holes. This unit includes a contrasting color core than indicates where cutting needs to be done. With aluminum lowers, forces are kind of hig for the machining, and a jig is typically used to hold the lower in a vise. The plastic is easier to cut thus forces are lower and the unit can be held by the flat sides (less surface area). Anyway, these are $75 each with discounts at 5 and 10, or more. Check out our site , or check out Facebook for two video links showing 2 completion methods.
