photos are hard to 'read' I am sure you move the focus in and out to find the best- take a photo thru your goggles-on a black cloth background.

I cleaned a lens once and the more I worked on it the worse it got-- best advice is always for optics- keep it from getting anything on it the requires cleaning of course.
