Do you think you could make this with a copper press fit HS for 3.8mm diodes? I'd like to get one for a 510nm build.

I could if I had a 3.8 diode on hand...

To get the right fit, there would be a little 'trial and error' with some test material. Very close tolerance for a diode press fit.

The best bet would be to find a laptop CD/DVD drive or a member that has a dead diode. I can purchase one and have it sent to you. I justdon't know which models have 3.8mm diodes though. The last one I took apart didn't have a typical red/IR can style diode. It was some other wierd thing I've never seen before. The BR diode was a 5.6 that was flattened on two sides.

A while back I saw that somebody was selling modules for those smaller diodes. In fact I bought one of the modules that I have never used yet.

I think it was Flaminpyro. You might just check with him and see...

Should be a good set up at 1.5 Amps...

With that diode and lens, it should be about 1.3 Watts minimum.

It will be an easy assembly. You will just need to connect your diode leads, to my driver leads. ('Hot' option kit)

I'll message you with information, as well as a link to eye protection in case you do not already have goggles...

Keep in mind that the smaller hosts not only have less heatsink mass, but the main thing is the size/capacity of the battery...

For a 2 Watt build, I recommend a larger host like my Mag kit:

hi, jayrob i am new to this forum and would like to get a quote on one your 18650 blue ray builds. I want one built with your custom copper heat sink, with a good LD, possibly merrideth, coated lens with focus ring installed with hot option. I have owned 2 cheap lasers a 20mw, and a 100mw green but always wanted a better laser that would light up the night sky mounted on my telescope and possibly light a match or two, pop baloons, burn cd case case while having no heating up issues. I've been researching a few builders but your name keeps coming up as the master laser building and whom I want to build my laser. Please give a few options or any advice on this custom build.
